Officially licensed by Kodansha and Mazda, this model reproduces the Mazda RX-7 (FD3S model) of Keisuke Takahashi that appears in the first volume of Initial D. The glossy body of the RX-7 expresses a streamlined form, and details such as the wheels and headlights have been carefully sculpted.
In addition to 2.4GHz wireless connection, for the first time in the series, Bluetooth connection is also supported, allowing connection without a receiver to a PC with built-in Bluetooth. When not in use, the desk can be placed on display, and when in use, the headlights and taillights can be illuminated. Note that the AE86 is one size smaller than the conventional AE86.
A special mouse pad is also included in the package.
