1998 Compaq Presario 4540 documentation and ephemera lot, still in the original factory C-KIT box.

This is the accessory and paperwork kit that shipped inside the carton of a Presario, plus the original owner's purchase paperwork and two retail store display stickers. Box label reads C-KIT, MCO,586-US / P/N 310109-001 / ID M303081484, date stamped 01/30/98.

NO DISCS:The QuickRestore CD and the multimedia CD listed on the box label are not present. This lot is paper, stickers and the box.

Two Compaq retail store display stickers

• Large curved topper, P/N 298193-002. "Towering Multimedia Performance, Incredible Desktop Value." Lists the 233MHz AMD-K6 MMX processor, 256KB pipeline burst cache, SyncDRAM, 64-bit PCI graphics with Direct3D, 2MB video memory and JBL Pro audio.
• Bar chart strip, P/N 170736-002. "Superior Performance and Value" comparing the Presario 4540 against a generic 233MHz PC on the Winstone 97 benchmark.

These are the stickers that went on the demo unit on the sales floor. They were peeled and thrown out at the end of the promo, so very few survive.

• CDW invoice dated 2-12-98 for a Presario 4540 5/233 at $955.46. Serial number SA804BSWNK985. Buyer name, address and payment details are redacted in the photos
• Compaq At Home printout for the Presario 2240 at $799, dated 1/6/98. The original owner was cross shopping.
• Compaq Presario 4540 spec sheet, 006A/1197USR, with 999.00 written on it in pen.

Condition

Pre Owned: Used, stored. -- NO DISCS OR CD ROMS INCLUDED -- Everything is clean and legible with no water damage, no mold and no odor. Normal shelf wear and light handling creases on the loose sheets. The two display stickers (left as found in box) show light surface scuffing and a few faint marks in the red field, consistent with being peeled off a display unit. Both are intact with no tears. The outer box has light corner and edge wear and the shipping label is intact. See Photos for details.
