Genuine MITS Altair 680 with 100% original parts.

The MITS Altair 680 computer is a vintage piece from the very earliest days of home computing, known for its historical significance and connection with Bill Gates. This fully working, 100% original model is a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts of vintage computing. It would make a valuable addition to any museum or collection, showcasing the evolution of technology in the 1970s.

The Altair 680 is actually even more rare than the 8800. It was released just a year later, in 1975. It has a Motorola 6800 microprocessor running at 500Khz, with 1K of RAM and 1K of ROM. It has support for a serial terminal and punch reader.

This particular unit also has the hard to find extra expansion board with parallel port. It is configured to connect to a serial terminal or PC which we have used to fully test and run programs on it. Actual code and output from a test program is shown in the photos.

NOTE: This sale is for the Altair only. It does NOT include the terminal,
