It does NOT work with 18V LXT, 14.4V, or 12Vmax batteries. Makita make aseparate adapter, the ADP15, for 18V and 14.4V.
Note also: this adapter takes power OUT of the battery. It cannot charge aMakita battery.
Because there is no battery and no charger in this package, there is nolithium cell in the shipment and no Japanese 100V mains adapter - so notransformer, no plug adapter, and no voltage concern anywhere in the watts from a tool battery.
That figure is what separates this from every previous Makita USB adapter,and from most power banks. 105 W over USB-C means a laptop - not trickling,but charging at the rate the laptop expects.
The output range is complete: 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V and 20 V at 3 A, plusPPS from 5 to 21 V at 5 A. A phone, a tablet, a laptop, a camera, a dronebattery, a Starlink terminal - anything that speaks USB Power Delivery.
The PPS implementation is unusual. Programmable Power Supply lets a devicerequest a precise voltage rather than picking from fixed steps, which allowsfaster and cooler charging on phones that support it. At 5 A, thisspecification exceeds what most PPS devices currently ask for.
There is a USB-A socket as well, at 12 W, and both work at the same time.
The practical figure Makita publish: an iPhone 17 charges about five timesfrom a BL4025 - their smallest 2.5 Ah battery. An 8 Ah BL4080F holds morethan three times that.
Which is the point. If you own Makita 40Vmax tools, you already own severallarge batteries. This turns them into the power supply for everything else -on a site, at a campsite, in a vehicle, or when the power is out.
There is a power button with a green indicator and automatic shut-off, andrubber caps over both sockets to keep dust and water out of them.
