Matrox Mystique 220 4MB PCI Graphics Card🖥️ A Late-1990s Matrox Classic
Offered here is a genuine Matrox Mystique 220 4MB PCI graphics card, model MY220P/4N, manufactured in 1997 and assembled in the United States.
The Mystique 220 arrived as an updated version of Matrox’s original Mystique. Its principal improvement was a faster 220MHz internal RAMDAC, giving the card excellent high-resolution 2D output for its era. Matrox was particularly well regarded for sharp Windows desktop graphics, strong display acceleration and excellent image quality.
This is the desirable factory 4MB SGRAM version, identified by both the MY220P/4N model number and 644-03 Rev. A PCB marking.

The Mystique 220 represents an interesting transitional period in PC graphics history. It combines Matrox’s established 2D acceleration with early hardware-assisted 3D capabilities.

🔌 Connections and Expansion
The mounting bracket provides two visually similar 15-pin connectors, but they serve different purposes:
The black connector is not a second VGA output and is not a joystick or MIDI port. It was intended for compatible Matrox Rainbow Runner video hardware.
The PCB also includes its original VGA feature and memory-expansion connections.
🧠 Memory Configuration
This card has 4MB of onboard NEC SGRAM installed from the factory.
The memory-expansion connection is present but no expansion module is installed. Matrox offered a compatible 4MB daughterboard that could increase this version to 8MB, but those modules are now relatively uncommon.

The PCB, installed memory, PCI edge connector, external connections and visible components appear clean and complete. The metal mounting bracket has light age-related discoloration and normal handling wear.
