Vintage Matsushita CR-563-B CD-ROM drive. I believe this was pulled from a Packard Bell computer. This example was manufactured in July of 1994. The beige bezel is clean and only shows faint yellowing. Upon testing, I found that this unit does power on, but the eject mechanism does not work well. You must insert a paperclip into the hole to eject the tray. Upon boot, the drivers will detect the drive as a CD-563-x 0.75. However, it does NOT read discs in DOS. Note that this is NOT an IDE drive. This is designed to connect to a Panasonic (or MKE) CD interface, as found on some SoundBlaster cards.
