NASA 486 Vintage PC – Pentium 486 OverDrive 80MHz – Gigabyte GA-486 – VLB – Sound Blaster
Offered for sale is a very unique vintage 486 computer featuring a Pentium 486 OverDrive 80MHz processor, VLB graphics, Sound Blaster audio, and several modern quality-of-life upgrades.
What makes this system particularly interesting is its reported history. I acquired this computer several years ago with the information that it had been used within a NASA department. The computer also has a NASA sticker that was given only to attendees of NASA management training classes. True or not? I don't know, but it is still an awesome computer!

Modern Quality-of-Life Upgrades
The original floppy-drive experience has been upgraded with a USB Gotek running FlashFloppy, complete with a custom display. This allows disk images to be loaded conveniently from USB while retaining the look and feel of a vintage DOS computer.
The system also uses CF card storage, providing a much more practical and reliable storage solution than relying exclusively on aging mechanical hard drives.
Condition
The computer is fully working and performs very well.
There is one minor quirk worth mentioning: the CPU cooling fan is magnetically mounted and may need to be slightly repositioned so that the fan does not brush against the top of the heatsink. This is a minor adjustment, but I want to disclose it clearly so the buyer knows exactly what to expect.
Cosmetically, please examine all photographs carefully for the condition of the case, components, labels and cards.
A Serious Vintage PC
This is an extremely large and heavy 486 system with the kind of substantial construction that was common in high-quality PCs of this era. It is built like a tank and has a great presence on a desk or in a vintage computer collection.
Between the 486/Pentium OverDrive configuration, VLB graphics, Sound Blaster audio, Gotek/FlashFloppy upgrade, CF storage, and reported NASA connection, this is a particularly interesting system for collectors of vintage DOS computers.
Shipping
Because this is a very large and extremely heavy computer, I take shipping seriously. It will be carefully and securely packed to help protect the system during transit. Only the system is included and does not include any peripherals.
I normally ship the same day or next business day whenever possible.
Thanks for looking, and good luck!
