Hardware Requirements:

  1. An available PCIe 5.0 x16 slot on your motherboard, which is backward compatible with PCIe 4.0/3.0.
  2. Ensure the PCIe x16 slot is configured to operate as x16. Some motherboards may reduce the slot to x8 when multiple slots are active (e.g., with a graphics card). The slot must support bifurcation and be set to "PCI-e x4x4x4x4" in BIOS.
  3. All SSDs must be M.2 PCIe (M Key) NVMe SSDs.
  4. The CPU must have sufficient channels to support the M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs in sizes: 80x22mm, 60x22mm, 42x22mm, and 30x22mm.
  5. Not compatible with M.2 (SATA-Based B+M Key) SSDs.
  6. Compatible with most server motherboards and X299/X399 platforms that support PCIe x16 bifurcation.

    7. Important Notes:

    • Full PCIe 5.0 x16 performance (4x128Gbps) requires all devices, including the M.2 NVMe SSDs, CPU, and PCIe slot, to support PCIe 5.0. Note that Intel 12th Gen and older CPUs do not support PCIe 5.0.

    • This adapter does not support hardware RAID configurations. However, soft RAID can be set up via Windows (e.g., Windows 10/11 Storage Spaces) or third-party software. For optimal RAID compatibility, using identical SSD models is recommended.

    • If your motherboard does not support PCIe x16 bifurcation, only one SSD will be recognized. If the BIOS can only set to X8X4X4 or X4X4X8 mode, it will only recognize three NVMe SSDs.
