I originally purchased these two items together to replace the hard drive in an older iMac. I never ended up performing the upgrade, so neither item was ever opened, installed, or used. They have simply been stored on a shelf.
The AdaptaDrive is designed to allow a 2.5" SATA drive such as the OWC SSD to be mounted in a standard 3.5" drive bay.
