INTERFACE / CONNECTION TESTING

The drive was connected directly to a Mac Studio. macOS System Information correctly reported:

The Oyen U32 Shadow uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB-C interface and was originally advertised for transfer speeds of up to 575 MB/s. Actual speeds depend on the computer, operating system, filesystem, cable and workload.

BLACKMAGIC DISK SPEED TESTING

I tested the drive with several different Mac filesystem formats. Results varied significantly depending upon filesystem.

Mac OS Extended (Journaled):
Approximately283 MB/s Write / 315 MB/s Read

APFS:
Approximately269 MB/s Write / 284 MB/s Read

ExFAT:
Performance was lower, with observed read performance approximately186 MB/sduring testing.

These are my actual observed results on my Mac Studio and are provided for complete transparency. I amnot claiming that this used drive achieves the manufacturer’s advertised maximum speed of up to 575 MB/s. But has OriginalSamsung SSD 870 QVO 8TB in it.

The SSD itself reports excellent SMART health, with 100% overall health, 100% performance rating, 99% lifetime remaining, zero I/O errors and only 173 power-on hours.

CONDITION

Pre-owned and in very good overall physical condition. Please examine the photographs for the exact cosmetic condition. The drive has been recognized reliably by macOS and successfully read, written, erased and reformatted during my testing.

This is a used storage device. Although DriveDx reports excellent health and no SMART problems, I cannot guarantee any particular transfer speed on another computer or configuration. Performance varies with filesystem, computer, USB controller, cable and workload. Please review the benchmark and DriveDx screenshots before purchasing.

The drive will be erased before shipment. It is now formatted toEX=xFAT so it can be used in Mac or Windows. If you have MAC APFS gives faster transfer rate
