What makes the PLAster v2 Awesome?

Modern chip design allows for Low Energy Consumption and low heat

Uses Exact Equations used in original MOS 906114-01

CAS delay: Improves compatibility on some systems

KERNAL Mode: Switch allows BackBit cartridge (and maybe others) to replace KERNAL ROM

PRIVATE EYES Mode: Switch sets bus high to facilitate in-circuit testing.

When Do I Replace My PLA?

The Original Commodore 64 PLA, the chip located in U17 has long been plagued for failures caused by the excessive heat it produces during use.If your commodore 64 model is experiencing the common issues of a failed or failing PLA listed below, it may be time to upgrade your PLA. Issues can present as....

Blank or Black, violet, pink or orange Screen on startup

Flashing or “Rainbow” Screen

Garbled Screen and Character Flaws

Overheating/Temperature Spikes

Thermal Crash

Partial Failures

Cartridges failing to load

Incorrect Memory Count/Out of Memory

(if you need ram, I carry that as well in the linkbelow)

Replacing your PLA may not always fix your problems as RAM, VIC-II chip and Kernal ROM can produce overlapping faults and failures.

If you have a functioning original PLA, try placing Heat Sinks on them to protect then from excessive heat and potential damage.
