The X-treme 52 is an External CD Reader/Writer still in the original box and is unopened. This is older technology but should still be fully functional with or without minor adjustments or updates to insure compatibility with your current operative technology.
Items were recieved factory sealed but I have opened and inspected them after response from a customer letting me know the faux rubber on these had deteriorated or developed a sticky surface to it. The portions of the sticky surface does wipe off with rubbing alcohol and other areas don't really wipe off and it just kind off stays sticky, there are some suggestions online how to deal with it, HOWEVER, Buyer should be prepared to deal with this and understand the item will almost certainly have this conditon to deal with when deciding if tthey want to purchase the item.
The technology is mint but rubber on exterior is most liekly going to have this condition.
