It's a cool piece of vintage technology the Packard Bell Sportsman Plus (810414 version 212) laptop. I am able to power it on with the included OEM power cord but not with the battery pack inserted. There is no corrosion on the battery or where it inserts into the computer. It's just a dead battery pack. I didn't go beyond what you see in the powered up screens since I'm not computer savvy and didn't want to do anything wrong.

As you can see in the picture one of the hinges doesn't close properly but it doesn't interfere with the closing/opening function. I'm also including a vintage Microsoft mouse with a ball even though this computer has a built in J mouse.
