This is a restored Sony Vaio PC running Windows 98 SE!!

This PC has Windows 98SE fully installed and has all of the necessary drivers for the components installed as well. The system also has some games pre-installed (see pictures for details of what games are already installed).

All of our retro PCs come with USB mass storage drivers installed which allow for the use of USB flash drives so long as they are FAT32 formatted and 32GB or less. 

Instead of a mechanical HDD our PCs come with a modern SATA SSD that uses an IDE to SATA adapter (See pictures above). These are more reliable than old HDDs and allow for easy file transfers from a modern system direct to the SDD. 

This PC is intended to:

• Serve as an excellent retro Windows 98 Gaming PC
• Run older applications that require this type of hardware. 

The motherboard has been inspected and re-capped with bad capacitors replaced with modern polymer capacitors

 To use this PC effectively you must have some knowledge of how to use Windows 98 or be willing to learn!

Front panel USB is functional; however the front panel audio jacks have been disabled in favor of the dedicated Sound Blaster sound card. (See pictures above). 

Using a 4:3 aspect ratio LCD or CRT with this computer is highly recommended as older GPUs only support square screen resolutions, 1024x768 or 800x600 is preferable. A VGA or DVI capable monitor is required.

Note- The TV-Tuner card is non-functional in Windows 98 as Sony only released Windows XP drivers for this card. 

A PS2 Keyboard and mouse are also a necessity as USB peripherals do not work in Windows 98.  (Feel free to contact us about options for purchasing peripherals as we may have used keyboards/monitors)

All CD-ROM and Floppy drives have been tested to function properly, do not blame the drives if old media is no longer readable.
