The PM1643 is one of Samsung’s flagship enterprise SAS SSDs, built for demanding data center workloads: virtualization, databases, VDI, caching tiers and all-flash arrays. These drives are seriously fast and are a big step up from spinning SAS disks and older SAS SSDs. Each drive is formatted to standard 512-byte sectors, so there is no reformatting needed before use with a standard SAS HBA or RAID controller.
