For sale is a Sun Microsystems Model 411 external SCSI (without main PCB/HDD), originally designed as an external hard drive unit for Sun workstations.
The enclosure has clearly had a second life as a development/prototyping platform. The original hard drive has been replaced with a collection of custom electronic modules and boards, most likely from a laboratory, university or research institute project.
What is offered: Original Sun Microsystems Model 411 enclosure Working original power supply(inside) Includes all boards shown in the photos. One of the boards is a compact MC68xxx-based controller/computer. Exact part number: MC68332ACFC16 with name on board "Pickering" (probably from pickeringtest company)
The enclosure itself is in fair or even poor cosmetic condition, because of drilled holes... Several sections have been cut or modified to accommodate prototype hardware, so it should not be considered a collector-grade example.
However, the original power supply is functional, and if desired, the unit could potentially be restored back to its original purpose as an external SCSI enclosure.
