For sale is a rare SuperMac Spectrum/8 LC accelerated 8-bit color video card for compatible Apple Macintosh systems with an LC PDS expansion slot.
The Spectrum/8 LC was designed to add high-resolution external color display support to compact Macintosh LC-series systems. It provides up to 8-bit color, allowing 256 simultaneous colors, as well as grayscale and black-and-white display modes.
According to the original Spectrum/8 LC documentation, supported display resolutions include:

• 512 x 384
  
• 640 x 480 at 67 Hz
  
• 640 x 870 - Apple Portrait Display
  
• 832 x 624 at 75 Hz
  
• 1024 x 768 at 60 Hz
  
• 1024 x 768 at 75 Hz
  
• 1152 x 870 at 75 Hz
  
• 1152 x 882 at 72 Hz - Radius 19" timing

The card supports up to 256 colors at these high-resolution display modes, including 1024 x 768 and the 1152-pixel-wide modes, when used with a compatible monitor and timing configuration.
SuperMac's SuperVideo software provides monitor configuration, color-depth selection, display arrangement, and other card settings. Period SuperMac documentation also advertised hardware-assisted pan and zoom functions and a Virtual Desktop workspace of up to 4096 x 1536 pixels. The Virtual Desktop feature is a larger scrollable workspace and should not be confused with the card's physical monitor output resolution.
This particular card has been fully tested in an Apple Macintosh Color Classic under System 7.1.2.
