For sale is a SuperMac Thunder/24 NuBus graphics accelerator card for vintage Apple Macintosh systems. The Thunder/24 is a high-performance NuBus video card featuring QuickDraw acceleration and support for millions of colors, designed for high-end 680x0 Macintosh systems and remains one of the faster NuBus graphics solutions of the era.
This unit has been fully tested in a Macintosh IIci and is working properly. Acceleration works properly under System 7.5.5 and SuperVideo 2.49 (available for download at the Macintosh Garden and Macintosh Repository)
The Thunder/24 supports the following display modes (depending on monitor and drivers):
- 640 × 480 up to 24-bit color
- 832 × 624 up to 24-bit color
- 1024 × 768 (75 Hz) up to 24-bit color
- 1152 × 870 up to 24-bit color
Compatible with NuBus Macintosh systems including Macintosh II-series, IIci, IIfx, and Quadra models, and also works in early PowerPC NuBus systems with the appropriate SuperMac / Radius drivers.
The card provides QuickDraw acceleration, improving performance in the Finder, window movement, and many graphics applications compared with standard NuBus video solutions.
Cosmetic condition is very good overall. The PCB is clean, components are intact, and the NuBus connector is in excellent shape. The metal bracket shows normal age-related wear. Please review photos carefully for exact condition.
