100% Health in DriveDX on my mac, lots of power on hours sitting idle - low data read/write
Some have a few "udma crc 199" SMART errors logged in them which indicates a bad cable or controller port, not drive, but also VERY low and not incrementing. DriveDX (and other diag tools) even explain this is NOT an issue with the drive. The issue turned out to be a bad SATA cable that was damaged. It was one of those 8 port breakout cables that came from the controller, and a few of the wires got crunched when I was outing cables apparently :( Replaced that and no more CRCs incremented. Alas, the erorrs are permanently written in SMART controller data and cannot be "cleared". I just like to be very thorough in my descriptions :)
I had (8) of these drives in a media server that I ended serving the media from a remote array with. They sat in the server unused for the most part for the last 18 months or so.
There are some scuffs on the casing on some of them since they were in pretty tight fitting 8-bay SATA hot swap carrier in the server.
