Rare Twinhead Superset 30 Vintage 10 MHz XT Computer — Untested / As-Is

Offered as a Twinhead Superset 30, an unusual early all-in-one IBM XT-compatible computer manufactured in Taiwan.

The original factory identification plate reads:

Confirmed hardware

The computer contains an AMD P8088-1 8088 processor, consistent with a 10 MHz XT-class system.

The motherboard uses the type of numerous individual socketed/support ICs characteristic of early PC/XT architecture, including multiple 825x-series devices, individual DRAM chips and socketed ROM/logic devices. An Award XT BIOS ROM is also present, marked with a 1984 Award Software copyright.

This is NOT a Superset 30 Plus and the model number on the machine is not a shortened or duplicate designation.

Contemporary 1988 Twinhead advertising lists Superset-30 and Superset-30 Plus as separate products.

The period advertisement identifies the:

Superset-30:

10 MHz XT, all-in-one design, built-in monochrome/color emulation

Superset-30 Plus:

IBM PS/2 Model 30 compatible, 8086 8/10 MHz, VGA

The original advertisement therefore provides contemporary documentation that Superset 30 and Superset 30 Plus were distinct Twinhead models. �

The computer has not been tested for operation and no working monitor has been included or used for testing.

The exterior shows age-related cosmetic wear including scratches, scuffs, marks and discoloration.
