The OBS Studio Portable build in this pack arrives with twelve plugins already installed. They are ready to use the moment you open it, with nothing to download, nothing to compile, and nothing to configure.

• Advanced Scene Switcher: Switches scenes automatically based on window focus, audio levels, elapsed time, and other triggers.
• atkAudio: Loads VST3 audio plugins, adds submixes and a master audio bus, and provides ASIO tools for low latency input.
• Audio Monitor: Sends the audio of any source to a separate audio device, so you can hear a source without it reaching the stream.
• Background Removal: Replaces the background behind you without a green screen, and corrects poor lighting while it does.
• Input Overlay: Draws your keyboard, mouse, and gamepad on top of the video, showing the keys you press.
• Move Transition: Moves and animates a source on screen when you change scenes, instead of cutting straight to it.
• Multiple RTMP Outputs: Streams to several RTMP servers at the same time, for going out to more than one platform at once.
• Scene Collection Manager: Filters, backs up, and restores scene collections, so a full setup can be moved between machines.
• Shader Filter: Applies custom GLSL and HLSL shaders to any source for visual effects OBS does not include.
• Source Record: Records a single source on its own, separately from the main recording or stream.
• Waveform: An audio visualizer, giving a live frequency graph of any source as a dock or on screen.
• Win-Capture Audio: Captures audio from one chosen application rather than all system audio, without extra cables or drivers.

These plugins are part of the portable build. The official installers in the pack install OBS Studio on its own, exactly as the OBS Project publishes it.

A Version For Windows 7 And Windows 8

• Please read this carefully, because it is easy to get wrong. OBS Studio removed Windows 7 and Windows 8 support at version 28.0, in September 2022. The OBS 28.0 release notes state it directly: Qt 6 has dropped support for Windows 7 and 8, and "as such, OBS will no longer be supported on these platforms."
• The last release that ran on Windows 7 or 8 is version 27.2.4, and it is included here, in both 64 bit and 32 bit. It is also the last release with 32 bit builds.
• Note that 27.2.4 is an old build, from March 2022. It does the job it always did, but it does not have the newer features described above.
• Be careful about listings that offer a much newer version as a Windows 7 release. Anything numbered 28.0 or above cannot support Windows 7, because OBS removed that support before those versions existed.

Which version should I install?

Windows 10 or 11: the current release. Windows on ARM: the ARM build. Windows 7 or 8: the included 27.2.4 release, which is the last one that ran on those systems.

Will the current version work on Windows 7?

No, and this is important. OBS Studio removed Windows 7 and Windows 8 support at version 28.0 in September 2022. Any version numbered 28.0 or higher cannot run on Windows 7, whatever a listing may claim. That is why the 27.2.4 release is included here as well.

Does it work on 32 bit Windows?

The current release does not, and there is no 32 bit build for it. The included 27.2.4 release does have 32 bit builds, in both installer and portable form, and that is the one to use on a 32 bit Windows 7 machine.

Will my recordings have a watermark?

No. There is no watermark, no branding, and no overlay of any kind on your recordings or streams. What you capture is what you get.

Can I stream to YouTube or Twitch?

Yes. OBS Studio supports direct streaming to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Live, and any other service that accepts a standard stream key.

Is there a manual on the media?

No, and we would rather say so plainly. OBS documents itself online through a knowledge base, a project wiki, and an active community forum and chat. No official PDF manual is published, so there is none to include.

Do I need to copy the pack to my computer first?

The USB version runs the portable build directly from the drive. For DVD orders, copy the pack folder to your computer (e.g., your Desktop) first for best performance, then run the portable build or an installer from there.
