A true piece of early portable-computing history, this original 1991 Apple Macintosh PowerBook 140 comes from Apple’s first generation of PowerBook laptops. With its dark gray case, built-in trackball, monochrome display and iconic rainbow Apple logo, this is the unmistakable early-1990s design that helped shape the modern laptop.
The computer presents in remarkably clean cosmetic condition for its age, making it an appealing restoration candidate, parts machine or display piece for an Apple collection, vintage office or retro technology setup. The keyboard, trackball, screen and exterior all appear nicely preserved, with expected minor signs of age and handling shown in the photos.
The removable battery is missing. The computer was connected to the included original Apple Macintosh PowerBook AC adapter but produced no visible or audible response. The adapter has not been independently tested, so its operating condition is unknown. The computer has not been opened; therefore, the presence and condition of the internal hard drive, memory and other internal components cannot be confirmed.
This is being sold strictly as-is for parts, repair or restoration, with no guarantee of functionality. Please review all photos closely, as they are an important part of the condition reporting and show exactly what will be received.
