This example is a Rev C board dated 1988 and retains its original ribbon cable and dual telephone-line jack assembly.
DESCRIPTION
Original Applied Engineering DataLink 2400 internal modem designed for compatible Apple II computers.
The board is clearly marked DataLink 2400, Applied Engineering © 1988, Rev C, Made in USA, and FCC ID EYW5QGDATALINK24. Installed firmware ROMs are marked DL24A Rev 1.38 and DL24B Rev 1.1.
The DataLink 2400 provided 2400-baud communications and included features such as onboard call-progress monitoring and dual modular telephone connections. Period Applied Engineering literature identifies compatibility with the Apple II+, IIe, and IIGS.

- No obvious corrosion, burnt areas, broken traces, or damaged components observed
- From a large, carefully stored vintage Apple collection
- Not functionally tested because a compatible Apple II system is not currently available
