In the mid-1980s, the IBM 3270-PC, 3270-PC/G, and 3270-PC/GX were elite, multi-thousand-dollar engineering and executive workstations designed to bridge local PC operations with corporate mainframes. Because this software tier was restricted to enterprise networks and corporate systems programmers, intact sets are incredibly difficult to find today.
This listing represents the seven part ecosystem required to deploy, connect, utilize, and troubleshoot a vintage IBM 3270 computing environment.

1) IBM 3270 Personal Computer /G or /GX - COLOR GRAPHICS APPLICATIONS - User-facing vector CAD/design software. Supports high-resolution displays, picture plotting utilities (such as the IBM 7372 Color Plotter), and Picture Interchange Format (PIF) conversions.
2) IBM 3270 Personal Computer /G or /GX - GRAPHICS CONTROL PROGRAM - The specialized windowing operating environment that allowed concurrent management of up to four host mainframe sessions, two local electronic notepads, and a local DOS session.
3) Personal Services /PC - The flagship menu-driven local desktop office suite. Acts as the user-facing application for reading corporate emails, organizing daily desktop calendars, and checking mainframe documents in and out of the corporate archive.
4) VM Bond - The critical host-integration bridge. Allows the workstation to map corporate mainframe Virtual Machine (VM) storage directly as local DOS hard drive letters (e.g., D: or E:) and coordinate cross-platform application syncing.
5) PC/Videotex - Historically significant, early online telecommunications terminal emulator. Allowed users to dial out to early interactive networks (such as NAPLPS/Prestel protocols) to display primitive text and blocky color graphic information frames.
6) PROFS - Personal Computer Connection PROFS/PC2 - The low-level machine communication protocol client used to seamlessly request, download, and sync email and scheduling data with the IBM PROFS (Professional Office System) mainframe backend.
