Vintage IBM 5150 System - Excellent Working Condition w/ Monitor, Keyboard, etc
Price: US $1299.00
A couple years ago my parents began the age-old ritual of getting rid of stuff via bamboozling their children with a thin veneer of "hey look at this neat stuff from your childhood, do you want it?" Now that I gave it a couple extra years of dry aging in a box in the closet, I've expended enough effort to hopefully find it a new home. I am not looking to split this or part it out at this time. Location is northern Seattle metro area.
Included items and their status:
  • IBM 5150 PC
  • Motherboard appears to be a 2nd gen as it is stamped 64KB-256KB CPU (probably could open and get more specific info but I really want to avoid any extra tinkering, never know when it could decide to depart this world)
  • Boots up to cassette dos on power on, but due to the nature of 40+ year old electronics, sold as is.
  • Power cable
  • Very clean exterior, no significant yellowing, scratches
  • MiniScribe hard drive (lights up and makes noise but not accessible or recognized and I don’t have the time to dive in to work on it)
  • 5.25” floppy drive (working)
  • 3.5” floppy drive (lights up - I don’t have any 3.5” floppies to test)
  • Princeton Graphics Systems HX-12RGB monitor
  • Color monitor, still works just fine, no real ghosting or burn-in
  • CGA, power cable
  • IBM Model F keyboard
  • Excellent working condition, apparently, I was a responsible and even-tempered IBM manuals
  • Guide To Operations (v2.02)
  • Disk Operating System
  • DOS (v2.00)
  • BASIC
  • Princeton Graphics Systems
  • Instruction manual
  • Misc others, see photo
  • Probably over a hundred 5.25 floppies, some working, some not. Honestly I really don’t want to deal with going through them all but if there are some specific pieces of software you’re looking for I can look through them. My dad is a real good labeler for the most part.
Due to the volume and fragility of this system, local pickup is preferred. If shipped, the system will be sent in multiple boxes via UPS Ground. Items will be packed properly using appropriately secure materials. The shipping calculator is based on the heaviest box only, and I have increased the system price by $150 as a handling fee to cover the second box and materials.
While the system currently boots perfectly to Cassette BASIC, it is 40-year-old hardware and is being sold strictly as-is.
