Vintage Kehtron Pentium MMX Desktop Computer – AS-IS / For Parts or Repair
Vintage late-1990s Kehtron desktop computer with Intel Pentium MMX processor.
Specifications / Features observed:
* Intel Pentium MMX 233MHz processor
* 32MB RAM detected
* 512KB L2 cache
* Intel 430TX chipset motherboard
* 3.5” 1.44MB floppy drive
* 40x CD-ROM drive
* IDE hard drive is physically installed
* PCI video card
* Additional PCI communication/modem card
* AT-style vintage tower case
Testing:
The computer powers on and successfully completes POST. It produces a video signal and enters the Award BIOS setup normally. The BIOS correctly detects the Pentium MMX 233MHz processor, 32MB of RAM, floppy drive and CD-ROM drive.
After continuing past POST, the system displays:
“DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.”
A hard drive is physically installed inside the computer, but it is currently not detected by the BIOS. The cause has not been diagnosed.
The CD-ROM tray opens and closes properly. The floppy drive accepts/ejects a disk, but actual disk reading/writing has not been tested.
A CMOS checksum error / Defaults loaded message was observed during startup. The CMOS battery may require replacement or further service.
The front Turbo button/indicator responds, but any actual change in CPU speed/performance was not verified. The front numeric speed/MHz display does not illuminate.
The computer has not been fully tested beyond the functions described above.
Condition:
This is an approximately 1990s-era vintage computer and shows age-related cosmetic wear, discoloration, marks, dust and some surface oxidation/rust on the metal case. Interior also has dust from long-term storage. Please review all photos carefully for exact cosmetic condition and internal components.
