* UNLOCKED BIOS: As an OEM during the early years, I licensed BIOS directly from the big 3 major BIOS manufacturers (Phoenix, Award, AMI), and was provided with OEM BIOS customization tools which allowed configuration of the BIOS user interface to set all defaults and to hide/lock any options. Soyo licensed Award BIOS for this motherboard configuration, then used the OEM customization tools to set defaults and lock/hide access to some options. Now, using my copy of the same customization tools, I have unlocked/revealed all hidden BIOS options while leaving the defaults as configured by Soyo. These previously hidden options are now visible and accessible in the BIOS. The BIOS is not otherwise affected.
• BONUS: A list of Setup and BIOS defaults, which are slightly different ( "setup" defaults typically include slightly more aggressive timings than BIOS defaults).
• It is best not to change settings you don't understand. If a wrong setting prevents the board from booting, simply unplug power and look for jumper JP5 (usually near the CMOS battery or Dallas chip). Shorting this pin for 5 seconds resets the BIOS back to its defaults>
• If you prefer to receive the original unmodified Soyo BIOS, I can replace with that at no charge. Just let me know in a message when you place the order.
