Engineered during the classic Heath/Zenith computing era, this self-powered external enclosure houses a heavy-duty quarter-inch cartridge (QIC) streaming tape drive designed for system backups on vintage Zenith and IBM PC/XT/AT architectures (Z-100, Z-150, Z-200, Z-248 series, etc.).

Details & Features:

• Mechanism: Front-loading QIC magnetic cartridge tape drive with manual locking door mechanism.

• Interface Cable: Attached heavy-gauge shielded interface cable terminating in a heavy-duty metal-hooded AMP connector (plugs into an internal ISA controller card).

• Power Supply: Integrated internal AC power supply with 115V / 230V voltage selector switch, rear rocker power switch, and standard IEC AC inlet.

• Cosmetics: Solid, heavy steel chassis in classic Zenith industrial beige/gray finish. Shows typical vintage wear, surface marks, and some oxidation on the rear screws/chassis metal consistent with age and storage. Front bezel and Zenith Data Systems badging are intact.
