Vintage Apple Mouse IIc A2M4015 8-Pin Wired Beige Genuine Made in USA - Tested

I am the original owner of this genuine beige single-button mechanical Apple Mouse (Model No. A2M4015). This vintage mouse was purchased in 1986 as part of my Apple Ilc system. It has been stored for several decades and is exceptionally clean for a 40-year old computer accessory.

Identification

• Apple Computer, Inc.

• Genuine molded Apple 8-pin connector
• Single-button design

Cosmetic Condition

The mouse presents extremely well for its age. The beige housing and button are clean with very little visible wear. The Apple logo is crisp, and the original underside identification label remains intact and legible.

The cable is particularly clean, with very few marks and no cracks or damage observed. The strain reliefs at both the mouse and connector are intact. The connector housing is also very clean; the metal connector shield does show minor normal age-related surface wear.

Please see the detailed photos, including close-ups of the housing, cable, connector, underside and internal components, for the exact condition of the item you will receive.

Testing

The mouse has been fully inspected visually and partially tested electrically / electronically:

• Mouse button clicks and returns properly
• Button switch tested electrically with a multimeter (showsopen circuit when released and continuity when pressed)
• Each of the wires inside the cable have had its continuity from the pin to the connection at the board confirmed with the multimeter
• Rubber tracking ball and components have been cleaned, where necessary
• Mechanical tracking ball rolls freely
• Internal X- and Y-axis rollers and mechanisms move freely
• Interior is exceptionally clean and mechanical sound

I no longer have a compatible Apple IIc system available for a complete operational test, socursor movement and the mouse's complete electronic X/Y tracking operation have not been verified on a computer. As a result, the mouse isbeing represented only as tested to the extent specifically described above, rather than as fully tested.

This original Apple Mouse is an excellent choice for Apple collectors, vintage computing enthusiasts, anyone building a period-correct IIc system, or someone simply needing to replace the original mouse from an existing system.
