LOL - Yes they can be. I actually had one I had to give away. It was about 4 months old but was doing so many hot laps and breaking so much stuff in the house while I was at work I just couldn't take it anymore and didn't want to lock it in a cage while I was gone.

Rub some butter on it's shoulder blades. It should slide out from under the monitor a little easier. Tip: Don't pull on tail when trying to free.
