Driv, It utilizes about 12 Amps fully powered.

ScriptKeeper, I host my own everything. I buy bulk bandwidth and have a little block of IP addresses and do everything from there, DNS, Web, FTP, MySQL, Email, Telnet, SSH Servers and more.

I can handle 3,200 web sites at one time.

Not bad for a little guy, LOL.

I have someone interested in buying it all ready.

In that event I will just build 2 more racks so if another wishes to buy it the I won't have to use temp servers mounted in the head for a few weeks or months.

Will build the second one in the garage so it will be easier to move if it ever gets sold, LOL.

With materials, labor, and software depending on different options and configurations between $60,000 and $75,000 complete. This rack is not completed as of this time.

This does not include the head stand that houses the gateway and primary network switching equipment.

Nice-looking setup smile I used-to run my own server from home, but it was just an old dell 1250 (or something), way back in the late 90's.

I used to run a Cobalt Raq as my first server sever years ago - thought they went out of business long ago....

The biggest issue with running servers from home is the connectivity to the outside world - what happens if your IPS develops a fault? or there is a power cut?

Well, us small guys are still able to buy UPS's and generators like the big guys too.

Those Cobalts have all be rebuilt and running the same thing as the new servers. I just use them for small sites. They are compatible with the Cobalt XTR's. Sun Micro Systems bought Cobalt and they did not go out of business as they were sold.

As far as the connection goes we are still able to get great speed from home based locations as well, If you have enough money you can pretty much buy what ever you want in the old USA.
