This one is a little difficult because I have a kinda different setup.
I have made 3 /cgi-bin/ directories wich point to the same forum, but with different lay-outs. This works very good:

But here comes the bug. When I enable caching (and yes I changed the Cache folder in the var_config.cgi file) today's active topics only show the changed topics from wich resides in the /cgi-bin/ branch.
I have now switched cachin off, so there is not a problem with that now. But I think you should keep the daily topic administration in the html/ubb folder.
