Php really needs to be at least 4.3.0, and the threads 6 series runs fine on the current php 5 series. I am running threads 6.5.5 on php 5.0.4 and mysql 4.1.14, your mysql version is fine, but I'd update the php if it were me. You are leaving your site open to possible security issues if you don't at least use the most current 4 series php. 5 is the better choice if you have the choice.

I've run forums on w2k servers for quite a while, I can tell you none of the setups run correctly out of the box, you have to copy .dll files here and there and edit your php.ini and my.ini files to get things right. The best start will be to install the most current versions of php 5.0.x and mysql 4.x

Are you using IIS or apache for the webserver? Either works fine, just wondering.
