my question :-
why did you move away from snitz to ubb if you were already up and running there?
why i am asking:-
at this point in time->on ubb6.3.0.1 , win2000 server, sql server 2000
over at my work . .the ubb serves as a secondary section of the site, with users having to login to view articles on the main ASP site, the current problem is that users have to register themselves again with the ubb software to use the forum . .even though the previous registration with the main ASP site has already stored a username and password pair in the sql server 2000 database. .(if only there was a way to get ubbv6301 to work with Microsoft Sql Server 2000)
due to the pressing need to integrate everything to a single login for one of the sites that i work on (which would help the user friendliness of the site), i have been asked to evaluate a number of alternate forums/messageboard softwares with snitz being one of them.
snitz and others were selected by TPTB for evaluation because their features' list claim to be able to work with sql server 2000 (which would be helpful in our case where the usernames and login passwords are stored in one of the tables)
and another feature is full moderation. . .
for me one of the things i am concerned about is that their user interface/interaction should resemble ubb as much as possible .
i have only just started looking and checking on the other alternatives after overcoming ubb inertia (would have liked to work more with perl;) and the ubb people (both infopop and ubbdev) have been great:) ). . anyway . .
