There are only 3 possibilities that I can recall that would cause the page views to change
- Monthly Reset (cache and cgi counters both reset)
- Out of space condition on server (one or both of the counters gets reset to null but this is unlikey because you would be seeing other errors and getting reports of out of space conditions)
- Corrupt counter file (Your views will not go back to zero, but will be considerably less than they were before the corrupt file)
The 3rd possibility sounds like what is happening. Approximately how many views do you get a month?
