Best suggestion is, grab a style that someone has made from the style section and upload it via the styles section of Control Panel. Then, edit the new style and just play around and you will soon see how the various parts of the styles control the look of various parts of the board. Also, as Gizmo suggested, the
www.w3schools.com has very easy to understand tutorials on css so you will at least understand what you are looking at when you edit a style. Its so easy even I could understand it
