I believe the Show and Require setting is for initial registration as to whether they want to receive emails from the admins. Are you looking for an SQL query to change this setting for all users to "yes" ?

If so then

UPDATE w3t_Users SET U_AdminEmails = 'On' WHERE U_Number > 1

will work
