I like the idea
But in my experience members can be post count driven
If you take away any value attributed to post count (like silly "Top Poster" lists)
then total number of posts become less of a motivator.
One of the first things I do with my ubb.t installation is to remove all obvious displays of post count (in showflat and showthreaded.php).
