I've had my website for over 6 1/2 years now, and I once asked my users what they thought of advertising. Without exception they all said they wouldn't like it, and that they would raise the money each year for annual costs and extras - and they have. They raise about $2000 per year with auctions and raffles. We definitely don't want to make a profit, so it works out well for everyone.
