Not sure if its Active Text Overload but you can get Active Text to show an image instead of a Link.
The best example would be lol <<< (lol)
you can get the active text to replace this with a image
thats lol
Okay using this forum say Grin
Active text would be
Grin|<img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/images/graemlins/default/grin.gif"/>
So if i typed the word Grin it would be replaced as
