Many things (Apache etc.) are already installed on any Macintosh
The main advantage of MAMP is that it is an independent installation that will not touch any system files or installations. I use MAMP on my 3 Mac’s for development and I am pleased with it.
well.. it's noticeable.. i guess i can do timings, but i don't want to go back to the old configuration to time it
