I read a few threads discussing PHP5 but I still have a big question and major fears. My web host is dropping PHP4 and asked all clients to switch over by July. I would prefer to be proactive and make the change before it is done
for me. They set up a test server to check our web pages but a lot of my pages have hard coded links with fully qualified URLs which messes with the test. So I am not sure where I stand. So I have a few questions:
- Will UBB Threads 7 work any differently with PHP5?
. - Are there any precautions or changes to make before switching?
. - What do you do if your forums stop working?
. - Is assistance available if something should go wrong? My ISP will not provide support for 3rd party software.
. - Has anyone switched from PHP4 to PHP5 (with current UBB install) and what was your experience?
