For the moment, restoring my machine to a few days earlier worked. As for the malware issue, I can live with that threat as this is the free-for-all PC in my kitchen with nothing important on it. If my kids can't get onto the Webkinz web site or the Nick Jr web site my ass is in hot water!!!
(3-year old girls can get just as nasty as the 33-year old ones)
