Assuming you are using UBBThreads.
First is to ftp to the site and backup the site files.
Then you need to backup the MySQL database. Using whatever you have for a tool (PHPMYADMIN,SHELL,ETC)
It also might be helpful to make a crib sheet for paths, database login and print out the documentation to install ubb.
