I was thinking about upgrading my 1280 x 1024 5:4 monitor for a widescreen so I went to a local store and purchased a top spec full HD 1920 x 1080 16:9 monitor and it's awful!
My current screen is 19" and the new one is 22" but because of the resolution the regular (recommended) display setting is giving me a head ache because everything is so small. I think that I should take it back and change it for a 1680 x 1050 8:5 but would like some feedback on your monitor size and resolution of choice or that you are happy with.
I know that changing from a square screen to a widescreen actually results in a reduction in size unless you swap something like a 17" for a 24" but ideally I'm aiming for something that I can comfortably use at around the 22" mark.
