Here is a video of a brand new KONE EcoSpace machine room-less traction elevator at the newly remodeled Mitchell Hall at the University of New Mexico. The KONE EcoSpace is an energy-efficient design, using 1/3 as much energy as a hydraulic elevator. This one even talks!
And this is just the first KONE EcoSpace that has been installed on the UNM campus. Additional KONE EcoSpace MRL elevators will soon be installed at the new School of Education Addition, the old Architecture building, Tamarind Institute, the new Sciences and Math Learning Center, and the new BBER Parking Garage. It is great that UNM is going with greener elevator technology.
