I think email piping and pop3/imap parsing would be very useful in today's world as users could use email as a method of posting/responding as well as MMS from their cellphones.
However, nuking the text from the PT's isn't really an option for any of my sites..
I'm not sure which template it's in, but it's likely that it's as simple as removing a variable from the template to stop the pt body from sending with the pt notification
I don't think I'd want to nuke the entire text, but rather, maybe have it set up so that the first few words of a reply are displayed, with a message "click HERE to view the rest of this message and reply to this PM."
