I think I'll sit right here and watch for the answers.
Several years ago, I bought "HTML4 for Dummies." It helped me then, and I still look at it once in a while. There are a bunch of different "Dummies" books for php and css, but I have no idea if they are any good or not. The HTML4 book meets your "I like..." line, so I would think the other books would, too. I have never seen them, so I can't endorse them.
