If this is just starting to happen, and isn't all the forum posts just the new ones....
I would check the password and name to the database. If that is correct, I would check permissions for the db, and possibly run the script under content rebuilder for the forums. If that didn't fix it, I would look at optimizing the tables for the forums.
Maybe the others have some better ideas, but that is where I would start.
