Full text is faster and more powerful but has a default 3 character limit that can only be adjusted via the MySQL config.
Unless you have full access to MYSql config as Gizmo stated you have no control on your results page.
Like I said I went to internal for my situation.
It is not a bug,It is just that ubb can't override the MySQL config settings. That is something either your host must do (probably they won't). Or if you have a vps or dedicated server you can set yourself.
